Ilayathalapathy Vijay's "Puli" teaser, which was released on 21 June, has got record hits for a Tamil teaser. Now, people are curiously waiting to see whether it can beat the record of Vikram's "I' trailer.
"Puli" teaser has been viewed over 45 lakh times on its official YouTube page. The video clip, which recorded two million hits in less than 48 hours, has beaten the record of Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" teaser, which had received 43+ lakh hits on the video-sharing website.
The next record before "Puli" to break is the target set by Vikram's "I" trailer, which was released on 18 December. It had got 84 lakh hits for its official clip on Youtube. This is a milestone for a Tamil film and no cine video (Trailer/teaser) has broken this record.
People from across India and abroad have watched the video of the multilingual movie.
In case of "Puli", it is mainly a Tamil movie even though it has been dubbed in Telugu. The audience reach is limited. So, the chances of breaking the all-time record of "I" seems unlikely. Nonetheless, the crazy Vijay fans can go to any extent to ensure that the video beats the record of Vikram's clip.
"Puli" is a fantasy adventure, written and directed by Chimbudevan. The teaser has successfully generated positive reactions with regard to the movie, which has Kannada superstar Sudeep playing the role of an antagonist, and Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and Sridevi in other pivotal roles.
"Puli" is likely to be released by the end of August. It was earlier said that the movie would release for Ganesh Chathurthi, 17 September. Now, it appears like the plans have changed.
It is a mega-budget film, jointly produced Shibu Thameens and PT Selvakumar. It has Devi Sri Prasad's music, Natarajan Subramaniam's cinematography and Sreekar Prasad's editing.
