At a time when other celebrity couples are taking months, even years to tie the knot after getting engaged, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are an exception.
The 42-year-old "Holiday" star and the 35-year-old 'Good Charlotte' guitarist and vocalist got married at Diaz's Beverly Hills home on Monday amidst 100 guests, which included only close family and friends.
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden "were married this evening in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles," their representative told People magazine.
Diaz and Madden are the latest Hollywood couple to tie the knot. The rehearsal dinner was held in Beverly Hills on Sunday.
"We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends," the couple told the magazine.
Guests present at the wedding included 'Legally Blonde' star Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, DJ Samantha Ronson and Pussycat Dolls dance-troupe founder Robin Antin. Diaz's elder sister Chimene, her assistant Jesse Lutz, her BFF actress Drew Barrymore and realty TV star Nicole Richie served as bridesmaids.
Richie was the one who introduced the couple around seven months ago. She is married to Madden's twin brother and bandmate Joel. Richie and Joel's 5-year-old son, Sparrow, served as the ring-bearer.
It is being speculated that event planner Yifat Oren, who had planned weddings for Barrymore, Witherspoon, Anne Hathway and Natalie Portman, was spotted arriving at "The Bad Teacher" star's Los Angeles home.
Rumours of the couple being together began in May, and in July Richie told talk-show host Andy Cohen on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" that she had set the two up. Around mid-December, engagement rumours began and on 23 December Diaz was photographed sporting what appeared to be a large engagement ring.
It is their first marriage and neither have children.
Before Madden, Diaz dated Justin Timberlake, Alex Rodriguez and Sean (Diddy) Combs. On the other hand, Madden previously had a relationship with Paris Hilton and Holly Maddison as well, New York Daily News reports.
