A new trailer was released showing the Clans Mode from Infinity Ward's upcoming first-person shooter video game, Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Overhauling the clans mode and combat is an added feature for Call of Duty: Ghosts' multiplayer mode. Clans has been an integral feature of Call of Duty franchise for some time now but in the new game, clans mode will offer players clan-specific modes.
Players can "join, create and re-register" their clan to see some action where one clan can battle against another for territory. Infinity Ward will offer some unique rewards and much-needed XP if they join the clans. Players will be able to unlock exclusive items and bonuses and the mode will also allow players to head to various game modes.
This mode also offers cross-platform play. Friends using different platforms like PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 can now team up as a single clan and battle against another.
Players will be able access this mode using the Call of Duty app, which can be through their tablets or smartphones. The studio explains that this is its main attraction. Players will be able to -
- Manage their clan
- View their stats
- Emblems of the clan can be edited
- Players can chat with other clan member to strategize their battle plans
- Rally up messages can be sent to notify when the player are ready for a battle
The studio further noted that in the case of players not being in any clan, the game will recommend players some clans they can choose to join.
Clans Wars
This is probably one of the "biggest additions" in this mode. Players will have to fight with other clans to hold down and secure vital locations in the map.
The game is expected to be released on Nov 5 for PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It will also be launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date.
