A brand new Call of Duty is on its way. Publisher Activision is currently getting ready to unleash the next biggest addition in Call of Duty's Black Ops series – Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
The new game, as expected, has been developed by Treyarch and is a sequel to the previously released Black Ops 2, which was released in 2012.
As of now, a host of details have been revealed for the game. The new Black Ops is set to take place in a dystopian future in 2065, 40 years after the events of Black Ops 2. The game will now follow a team of black ops operatives, like previous instalments in the Black Ops series, but with super-soldier capabilities.
While all that sounds good (never mind the Deus-Ex banter), what we are concerned about is the game's multiplayer mode. Sure, there's a story involved in each of the Call of Duty games, but fans care more about the online side of things these days. So, what exactly is new in this year's online mode for the game?
Let's take a closer look.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Multiplayer Details
Soldiers' Specialist Abilities
Fans have been talking about the entire Deus-Ex inspired Call of Duty's Black Ops this time, but if noticed properly, bits and parts of Destiny can also be seen in the upcoming game. For instance, for Black Ops 3, fans will now be treated to several Specialist abilities. In a nutshell, Specialists are your equivalents to Destiny's classes, although there is some difference involved, as far as chosen abilities are concerned. As far as the Specialists go, there's now the new Outrider specialist that comes with an ability called Sparrow. It gives players a single shot with highly accurate explosive arrows (obviously more potent than John Rambo). Please note that each of the abilities require skill and flair, and your enemies will have the same kind of powers as you do.
Revamped Mobility Features
For any new game in the market, let alone a brand new Call of Duty, it's crucial that developers make changes that will help it stand out from the rest. Aside every other detail in the game, a lot of focus is often put in the way players will be moving around in the game. Needless to say, the new Black Ops has introduced revamped movement mechanics that will be something new compared to all the CoD titles of the past. For the new game, expect enhanced movement options such as wall-running, multiple jump abilities, and even gliding. This means you take multiple approaches when making your way towards the enemy, either by facing him head on or taking more treacherous ways by either gliding down or running over a set of walls.
Mad Levels of Weapons Customization
If the intense levels of Weapons Customization in Black Ops 2 weren't enough for you, get ready for what's in store as soon as Black Ops 3 hits stores officially. While in the previous game, players had the ability to choose their preferred attachments and skins for their weapons and even put up emblems after reaching a certain level, in Black Ops 3, players will be able to paint their weapons in any way they desire, similar to how they used to make their custom emblems in Black Ops 2. There's no limit to how crazy you can go over the weapons' customisation in Black Ops 3 and we're sure a host of fans will instantly fall in love with the option.
As of now, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set to be released on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on 6 November, 2015.
Stay tuned for more updates!
