New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Hundreds of cab drivers on
Friday (December 12) held a protest in New Delhi,
demanding the Central government to revoke the ban
imposed on a few cab companies, which they said was
affecting their business. The Central government has
requested that all state governments ban Uber and all
other unregistered, web-based taxi companies from
operating due to passenger safety concerns after one
of the Uber Company's drivers was arrested for
allegedly raping a young female passenger. Shouting
slogans, the protesting cab drivers demanded the
government to revoke its earlier order of ban on some
cab companies.
