BSE Sensex falls from record high on profit booking

Mumbai, May 27 (ANI): Market on Tuesday opened in a negative territory, a day after Narendra Modi and his cabinet ministers took oath to form the new government. The BSE Sensex retreated from record high by losing over 160 points in early trade as cautious investors booked profits. BSE closes points 23.53 up on May 26

New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 23.53 points up to stand at 24,716.88. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 8.05 points down to stand at 7,359.05. Mahindra & Mahindra and Shree Cement were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 7.94% and 6.38% along with SAIL and SSLT with an increase of 5.26% and 4.69% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Gitanjali Gems and HDIL with a decrease of 10.00% and 9.85% along with National Aluminium Co.Ltd. and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd. with a decrease of 9.32% and 8.58% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 295.08 points at 14,875.82 while the banking sector is down 130.02 points at 17,393.11 and the realty sector is down 103.16 points at 1,873.80. Stocks soar on continued optimism after Modi win

Mumbai/ New Delhi, May 19 (ANI): Bombay Stock Exchange and Nifty were trading higher on Monday as optimism continued after Narendra Modi-led BJP won a majority in the country's elections. Although both indexes are well below the record highs hit on Friday, when the Nifty gained as much as 1.2 percent before pulling back, brokers continue to raise their targets for the year. Overseas investors bought Indian shares of worth 36.34 billion rupees ($615.6 million) on Friday, marking their biggest single-day purchase since March, provisional exchange data shows. In financial capital Mumbai, stock market expert Sunil Shah said the upcoming new government was fuelling the stock value to new highs. May 19, 2014
