Saif Ali Khan starrer action thriller "Bullett Raja" finished its first week with average box office collections. Tigmanshu Dhulia's film started badly and had a poor opening weekend collection. However, the film maintained a strong grip at the collection window during the weekdays.
The film's first week total stands at ₹34.91 crore, which is quite commendable, after enduring a poor start.
Delhi, Rajasthan, CP, CI and other circuits contributed their best in the first week earnings.
The first week break-up of the film is: ₹7.5 crore on Friday, ₹7 crore on Saturday, ₹8.8 crore on Sunday, ₹3.75 crore on Monday, ₹3.12 crore on Tuesday, ₹2.74 crore on Wednesday and ₹2.00 crore on Thursday, according to Bollywood Hungama.
The collection of "Bullett Raja" is much better than Dhulia's previous releases but keeping the big budget in mind, the earnings are pretty low.
Made on a budget of ₹50 crore, the film will find difficulty in earning the production cost from its box office run. The first week was average but in the second week "Bullett Raja" has to fight "R... Rajkumar" at the collection centers. Now, it remains to be seen how the film performs in its second week.
Several trade analysts believe that low-key promotion and below par storyline are the reasons for the poor box office performance.
"People are bored of these action based Bollywood films. There has been an abundance of such films over the last few years. Besides, Bullett Raja was not up to the mark. The low-key promotion and publicity could also be one of the reasons for its bad performance at the BO," trade analyst Amod Mehra told Financial Express.
