Big Hit Entertainment has released the official music video for BTS's IDOL, which, at the time of writing this article, has crossed 68 million views. The K-pop boy group has now talked about the message of the title track in their repackaged album 'Love Yourself: Tear,' the collaboration with Nicki Minaz and contract renewals.

As noted by website Soompi, BTS held a press conference for the release of their recent album as also the beginning of their world tour for the same. Talking about 'IDOL,' BTS songwriter and rapper J-Hope said, "The song has the message of loving one's true self no matter what others say."

J-Hope added that despite the song being very Korean in style and essence it had a global appeal because of the mixture of traditional Korean music with trap and EDM. He also said that the choreography includes Korean as well as African dance styles and said he hopes everyone can follow the dance moves easily.

BTS's collaboration with Nicki Minaj has been making headlines after it was revealed that the American rapper will be featured in an alternate version of IDOL.

Speaking about the collaboration, RM said, "We thought the song would come alive with Nicki Minaj's rapping, so we sent a request. Nicki Minaj's side accepted, so it came to be." RM added enthusiastically, "Nicki Minaj is also actively promoting the song on social media. We are thankful that she is promoting it a lot."

During the press conference, BTS was also asked whether there was a possibility of them renewing their contracts with Big Hit Entertainment as they will expire in a few years. Responding to the question Jin said, "Our members have been talking about it a lot, and we are also discussing with our agency. I think we may be able to share good news soon."

Recently, rapper Bang Yong-guk left boy group B.A.P. after he chose not to renew his contract with TS Entertainment. He wrote a personal letter to fans recently.

BTS's 'Love Yourself' world tour has begun with the Seoul concert on August 25. Their next stop is the United States. Watch the MV for IDOL below.
