BTOB's Yook Sungjae and DIA's Jueun are not dating, it has been revealed. On 13 August, reports emerged that the two stars have been dating since January.
Soompi had initially reported that the two idols met at a gathering with friends and later fell in love with each other. An industry representative revealed: "The two current idols enjoy dates in their spare time while fulfilling their busy schedules."
The source added: "Although they are cautious of their surroundings in ways like being accompanied by acquaintances, they have not been hiding their affection for each other."
However, the dating reports were denied by their agencies. BTOB's agency Cube Entertainment said: "We checked with him, and it is true that they were at a gathering with acquaintances, but they are not dating."
DIA's agency MBK Entertainment stated: "It is not true that she is dating Yook Sungjae. It is true that they were recently at a gathering with acquaintances, but we have checked [with her] and found out that they are not close."
In related news, Sungjae carved a space for himself in the Korean entertainment world with his amazing performance in tvN drama Goblin. The 23-year-old was already well known for his performances in Who Are You: School 2015 and The Village: Achiara's Secret, but Goblin lifted him to further heights.
During an interview with InStyle magazine, the South Korean artist talked about his character. He said: "I hide my real personality on first encounters but it might be in my nature to brighten when I hang out with people, because I get to know people really quickly. I'm comfortable around hyungs and noonas because I'm strangely always the maknae, but I have a hard time with same-age friends or younger generations."
Adding on, he also commented on his baby face. He shared: "The face that I've had since I was young is finally starting to act its age. I'm ignorant when it comes to facial care. When I was young, my mother and older sister took care of me all the time, like washing my face in rice water. But even now, I don't even put on lotion when I'm alone."
