State-owned telecom operator BSNL has launched two new budget Android smartphones in association with the Champion Computers. The My Phone SM3512 and My Phone SM3513 come with an official price-tag of 3,225 and 4,499, respectively.
Kapil Wadhwa, MD, Champion Computers Pvt. Ltd. said, "The new BSNL Champion My Phones bring a seamless blend of essential features at a great price range. The market in tier 2 and 3 cities is ripe for such a product offering as the consumers are becoming increasingly tech-savvy and the demand for user-friendly products is very high."
Interestingly, both My Phone SM3512 and My Phone SM3513 Android smartphones have the same hardware and software specifications and flaunt the same design pattern. While My Phone SM3513 supports 3G conncetvity, the My Phone SM3512 comes with 2G network.
Both budget smartphones sport a 3.5-inch capacitive touch display powered a dual-core processor. The devices run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and house a 3-megapixel rear cameras along with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing cameras. The dual SIM phones are powered by a 1300mAh which claims to deliver up to six hours of talktime and up to 350 hours of standby time. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 2G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, and GPRS. Details about the smartphones' screen resolutions, memory capacity and chipset clock speed are not yet known.
Anupam Srivastava, DIR (CM), BSNL Board said, "With the evolution of Internet, the usage of Internet-based applications has tremendously grown as it has now become convenient to carry out daily business tasks like banking and other tasks and the Champion products are a perfect solution for the same. BSNL also has an agreement for sale of bundled devices with Champion Computers and have also launched a special 3G data plan for tablets which include 500MB free data + 50 Minutes On-Net Voice calls per month for 6 months."
The devices can be purchased through online retailers Flipkart, eBay and Snapdeal.
