After falling by over 2 percent in the previous session, the BSE Sensex rose by 1 percent on Friday.
The main 30-share BSE index .BSESN gained 0.96 percent to 17,361.74 points. The 50-share Nifty index NSEI added 1 percent to 5,278.20 points.
Though the week closes with a rise, India's indexes lost about 0.6 to 0.8 percent on the week.
Infosys Ltd gained 1.6 percent, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd gained 1.5 percent and Reliance Industries' share rose by 1.05 percent. ICICI Bank also rose 1.2 percent.
