The box office collection of Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra starrer "Brothers" dropped drastically on its first Monday, i.e. on fourth day. The drop in the business is around 60% compared to its opening day.
After a Rs 50 crore opening weekend, the film earned approximately Rs 6.23 crore on Monday. After four days, the box office collection of Karan Malhotra's directorial film "Brothers" now stands at over Rs 58.31 crore.
"#Brothers Fri 15.20 cr, Sat 21.43 cr, Sun 15.45 cr, Mon 6.23 cr. Total: ₹ 58.31 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The drop in the collection is huge considering the star cast. The box office collection of Akshay's last film "Gabbar Is Back" also dropped on fourth day, but since the opening day earnings of the film was lower than "Brothers" the drop witnessed on first Monday was just 48%.
"Gabbar Is Back" minted Rs 13.05 crore on its opening day, while on fourth day it raked in ₹6.75 crore.
Meanwhile at the overseas market, "Brothers" had a good opening weekend. The overseas box office collection of "Brothers" is better than Akshay's previous films, including "Baby", "Gabbar Is Back", "Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" and "Entertainment".
"Brothers" is now Akshay and Sidharth's highest opening weekend grosser in the overseas market.

US-Canada: Akshay and Sidharth starrer "Brothers" minted $ 266,175 (Rs 1.73 crore) from the US box office; while from Canada, it raked in US$ 81,861 (Rs 53.50 lakh) in its opening weekend.
UAE-GCC: The action drama performed its best in the Gulf region. In its opening weekend, the film minted AED 3,526,819 (Rs 6.27 crore) from the UAE-GCC box office.
UK-Ireland: From the UK box office, "Brothers" minted £ 140,506 (Rs 1.43 crore).
Australia and New Zealand: "Brothers" raked in A$ 76,733 (Rs 36.89 lakh) from Australia and NZ$ 87,130 (Rs 37.23 lakh) from New Zealand.
Pakistan and Malaysia: "Brothers" had a good opening weekend at the Pakistani box office. The film minted approximately PKR 37,402,805 (Rs 2.39 crore) from the Pakistani box office. From Malaysia, the film minted MYR 10,859 (Rs 1.73 lakh).
