Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra's "Brothers" has recorded the second highest opening weekend total of 2015, after Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan".
Interestingly, "Brothers" is also the highest opening weekend for Akshay and Sidharth. The film directed by Karan Malhotra crossed Rs 50 crore mark in its opening weekend. "Brothers" three days box office collection stands at Rs 52.08 crore, which is highest for Akshay and Sidharth both.
Until now, "Rowdy Rathore" was Akshay highest opening weekend with Rs 48.30 crore, while "Ek Villain" was Sidharth's highest opening weekend grosser with Rs 50.70 crore.
"With a 52.08 cr opening weekend, @Brothers2015 gives the highest opening for @akshaykumar and @S1dharthM . Let the fight continue we say," Fox Star tweeted.
"@Brothers2015 collects 15.45 cr on Sunday - India nett. Total fr 3 days is 52.08 cr - 2nd highest weekend of the yr. Applause everyone," Fox Star added.
"Brothers" had the second highest opening day with Rs 15.2 crore and on second day, i.e. on Independence Day holiday the film's business went up by 40%. However, "Brothers" failed to maintain the same pace on Sunday as it witnessed 40% drop in its collection.

Friday Rs 15.2 crore, Saturday Rs 21.43 crore and Sunday 15.45 crore.
The film, produced by Dharma Productions and Fox Star, features Jackie Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez in prominent roles.
