While all "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" fans appreciate the writers' dedication in not depending on Jake and Amy storyline to pull the FOX show forward, we have been suffering with "Peraltiago" withdrawal symptoms. And much like their friend Boyle, we are getting our fix of the drug in the upcoming Season 3 Episode 7 titled "The Mattress".
While we do know that Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) are both pretty serious about each other and the relationship, they have managed to keep their professional and private life separately so far. However, when they work together in a drug bust case, they might have their first real fight as a couple.
In a promo clip, we see Jake and Amy asking Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) to put them in the case together even though they are "smooshing booties". Holt makes an exception to his "not letting couples work on cases together" rule because they are admittedly two of his best detectives. However, he is a little baffled as to why Amy is with Jake when he learns that the latter does not know who Will Shortz, the puzzle master, is.

They have never had a fight with each other so far, and it looks like a mattress might be the cause for one. While working the case, Jake says they will go get a mattress together, to which Amy replies, "we will get to break it in. Although her boyfriend initially thinks Amy is talking about playing trampoline on the mattress, he realises that she is talking about sex.
It will be great to finally see more of the couple, and seeing them take the next step together. Meanwhile Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) stresses out about ruining one of Holt's prised possessions and seeks out the help of his step sister Gina (Chelsea Peretti), as Terry (Terry Crews) decides to teach Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) a lesson.
