Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller has been hospitalised for psychiatric evaluation for allegedly beating their two sons, Max and Bob, according to a new report.
On Wednesday morning, it was reported that Mueller and her sons were missing, just hours after she reportedly got into an altercation with the boys' nanny. The Utah Highway Patrol got a call early that day from a woman claiming to be Mueller's mother stating that her daughter and grandchildren were missing.
The trio and the family nanny were located on Interstate 15 near Utah and the children were later released to family and Mueller was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
There is no official confirmation on whether Mueller tried to hit the boys, but sources told TMZ that they spotted the former actress "swinging wildly" at the children at a Salt Lake City car wash. The boys were dressed in pyjamas without shoes. One of them even reportedly said, "Don't call the cops, they are going to take my mommy away!"
Mueller's mental health
Mueller's wild behaviour has been attributed to her going off of her medications.
The 39-year-old moved from Los Angeles to Utah earlier this year to enter a rehabilitation programme and has been receiving treatment through an outpatient programme since then.
"[Mueller] wants to be well. She wants to be a good mom. She even joined the PTA at her kids' school, and she left LA to start over in Salt Lake, but she still is struggling," a source told Us Weekly.
Charlie Sheen's statement
Two and a Half Men actor Charlie Sheen, who filed for divorce from Mueller in 2010, told TMZ: "I'm just trying to get my kids home safe. I have no other details that relate to the ongoing event."
