British European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Tim Peake sent music star Adele a message from space displayed on-screen during the London-based Brit Awards ceremony on 24 February.
In his award presentation speech, Peake congratulated the artist who dominated the ceremony after the year of her highly anticipated comeback, winning four trophies among which was the prestigious album of the year award.
Shes taken the world by storm and is a true global icon, he said from the International Space Station. I really wish I could be there in person to present your award, and do rest assured that were all huge fans up here.
The Brit Awards have been held annually since 1982 and are the most renowned award-giving ceremony dedicated to the British mainstream music industry.
