Two NYPD police officers have been shot at in the Bronx in New York City, by a suspected armed robber.
The shooting occurred at East 184th Street in the Tremont section on Monday night, NBC reported.
The two officers pulled over the suspect's car, following which he got out and fired shots at the officers. The suspect is still at large, and the police have launched a manhunt for him, The New York Post reported.
One of the police officers was shot in the arm and the other was shot in the back, as per reports, and they are being treated at St. Barnabas Hospital.
The shooting comes weeks after two NYPD officers where shot dead by a black man, who was reportedly seeking revenge for the killings of black individuals at the hands of the police in the country.
Police officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were shot and killed on 20 December when they were in their patrol car, by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who also shot himself at a subway station.
He had posted messages online about seeking revenge for the deaths of Michael Brown, the black teen who was killed by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, and of Eric Garner, who died in a police chokehold in New York.
