Two girls died, while another sustained injuries when an old school building collapsed in Chennai's Adyar area on Monday, according to reports.
A Chennai-based television journalist working with NDTV posted on Twitter about the incident.

The two class 8 students were crushed to death under the debris of the TVR Girls Higher Secondary School building, while the injured girl Sandhya was admitted to a hospital. The deceased students have been identified as Nandhini and Monisha, NDTV reported.
The Tamil Nadu government has announced a compensation of ₹3,00,000 to the family of the two deceased girls. The government will also take care of the expenses of Sandhya's treatment and has already given ₹ 30,000.
