The fire tenders have contained the massive fire that broke out at the Dum Dum substation of Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) in Kolkata city of West Bengal on Friday.
At least 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control.
The fire had engulfed three of the five transformers, Daily News & Analysis reported.
The fire that broke out at around 11:30 am and spreaded to the adjacent buildings. Indian Oil petrol pump is located nearby the building of CESC.
Residents of nearby residential buildings have been evacuated.

Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation or CESC is the flagship company of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group. CESC, the sole electricity generation and distribution company in the state capital, falls under the administration of the Kolkata municipal corporation.
