Malayalam music composer Bombay S Kamal passed away on Monday, 16 March due to respiratory failures. He was 83. 

The musician, who has composed almost 14 songs in Malayalam, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, where he breathed his last.

His mortal remains will be cremated at Palayam Juma Masjid on Tuesday.

Kamal has composed Malayalam songs, including "Devi Sukruthaanandamayi" and "Manjaniyum Maamalayil" among others.

He has also penned the lyrics for the song "Chalo Chalo Jawan" from Mohanlal starrer "Kurukshetra" (2008).

Kamal, who hails from Mumbai, was brought to the south Indian state by music composer Baburaj.

He won Swaralaya Award in 2012.
