The Indian Air Force's MiG-21 aircraft crashed near Rajasthan's Barmer district on Saturday, spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence said. No casualties have been reported so far.
The MiG-21 fighet aircraft reportedly crashed moments after it took off from Uttarlai airbase located on the outskirts of Barmer. Both pilots ejected safely.
There are no reports of any damage to individuals or property yet.
"The plane crashed at an open field near Malio ki Dhani, about 20 km from the city. There is no information of any loss of life or property so far," Barmer's Superintendent of Police Gagandeep Singla was quoted by NDTV as saying.
A Court of Inquiry into the crash has been ordered by the IAF.
