At least three people died and 30 others were injured when a bus fell into the Godavari river in Bhadrachalam town in Telangana's Khammam District on Thursday morning.
The dead passengers include two women. The injured passengers have been rushed to a hospital in Bhadrachalam area, a local news website Times of AP reports.
The incident occurred when the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus, travelling from Khammam to Bhadrachalam, was about to climb the bridge on the Godavari river. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle while driving it up the steep bridge and the vehicle fell into the river.
Telangana Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy has ordered an enquiry into the accident and asked the concerned officials to provide the injured passengers with immediate medical aid.
The incident was first posted on Twitter by a Telugu journalist.

It is not the first time such an incident has occurred in Godavari.
In February 2012, a school bus with 45 students onboard fell into river canal near East Godavari district. At least 14 students were feared dead while 18 others were injured in the accident.
