Mild tremors of earthquake has been reported from many parts of Bihar, including the capital city of Patna, triggering panic among residents. As more details of the earthquake are awaited, it is understood that the epicentre of the earthquake was in Nepal.
Hindi News Network Aaj Tak reported that around 9.03 pm, Patna, Darbhanga, Muzzafarpur, Madhubani and Supaul felt the tremours for around five to six seconds. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 5.2 on the Ritcher scale.
Avinash Jha, a native of Darbhanga tweeted that he helt the earthquake there: "@indiatvnews @timesofindia @PTI_News felt earthquake in darbhanga, Bihar.. Saw TV , Bed n Sofa shaking.."
Many residents had to wait outside their homes till the tremours subsided. Reports regarding material losses are still awaited.

Vaishali, concerned about her friends in Bihar wrote, "Heard about earthquake in Bihar, wish & hope @Bhumiharji @iammanishpandey and other friends from Bihar are safe....."
Tejas Barot tweeted, "Mild tremors felt in parts of Bihar ! Hoping for everyone's safety, Be Alert, Be Safe ! #earthquake #Biar"
Meanwhile, Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, experienced eqrthquake form 9.15 to 9.18 pm. Nepal, which falls in seismic zone five, experiences earthquakes every now and then. Darbhanga, Madhubani and other areas, have suffered its impact in the past as well.
