Brazil announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming Copa America 2016, which will be held in the United States from June 3 to 26. Neymar and Oscar have been left out of the squad.
Fernandinho, Roberto Firmino, Felipe Anderson, Gabriel Paulista and Kaka could not make their way into the Brazilian squad for Copa America 2016.
Selecao coach Dunga agreed to Barcelona's request of playing Neymar in either Rio Olympics 2016 or in Copa America. Thus, Neymar has been left out of the squad. The Brazilian forward will be donning his national colours in Rio Olympics in August this year.
Hulk, Douglas Costa, Casemiro, Philippe Coutinho, Willian and Luiz Gustavo are the popular faces in this 23-man squad.
Neymar's Barcelona teammates Rafinha and Daniel Alves have also been included in this Selecao Squad.
"We have talked a lot about it with the clubs and I can put myself in the position of the club coaches," Dunga was quoted as saying by ESPN.
"When we look at this question, the fear is that the player will be a long time away from his club, but we have had a great reception from the coaches because they understand that this is the moment of player."
"They see that there is something bigger to the player's absence; it is the dream of every player to defend the Selecao. There has be to a mutual agreement. When a player returns, they will return to their club with more experience, more confident, more motivated. It is always a two-way street."
