There are a number of huge fights that Manny Pacquiao has fought in his illustrious career, but he considers his bout with Floyd Mayweather on 2 May at MGM Grand in Las Vegas as "the fight of my life."
Boxing fans around the world were eagerly waiting for the fight to be finalised as the negotiations were stalled for a very long time and there were some who thought that the fight would never take place in boxing history. But, it was agreed upon some days ago.
It was in 2010 that the bout was expected to take place, but during the time it did not materialise. Had the fight taken shape during the time it could have been a huge affair, for they were in their prime and were throwing punches like no other.
Both the boxers are aggressive in their approach. If Pacquiao is very fast, Mayweather has a very strong punch, which has knocked many opponents out. With such skills, both the boxers are going to entertain the fans to the hilt.
"I will prepare hard for this fightto give the boxing fans the kind of entertainment they want. This is what I consider the real fight of my life," AFP quoted Pacquiao as saying.
The Filipino has already started his training in the US for the bout, which has been dubbed as the 'fight of the century', while the American has also started his part of training in Las Vegas at his gym.
The fight is expected to be the richest sporting event in the world and might break all kinds of box office records that existed in boxing history.
Initially, both the boxers were expected to split $200 million from the fight, but reports now claim that the figure might run upto $300 million. As per the contract, Filipino has agreed for a 60-40 split in favour of the American.
Both the boxers are going to meet on 11 March in a press conference to talk about their 2 May fight.
