The ticket prices for one of the most anticipated bouts in boxing history between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao has been announced and as expected it is going to cost a bomb for one to get a seat.
It has been revealed that the cost of the tickets would be between $1,500 (£1,005) and $7,500 (£5,023) for rafters and ringside seats respectively.
The announcement was made at the end of the press conference, which took place at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles that saw Mayweather face-off with Pacquiao.
No one should be surprised that the cost is on the higher side as the demand for the tickets is only going to increase as dates get closer. But, it could be sold out in a few days time.
Last month, Bob Arum had stated that nobody is going to get the tickets without paying. This time around, even celebrities are not assured of a seat inside the arena, which holds around 16,800 people.
But as per the reports of Forbes, celebrities may get a chance to watch the bout for free, but they have to pay a moral price.
With the magnitude of the event being so high profile, not much seats are going to be available for the general public.
The general public have the luxury of watching the bout from their couch in the drawing room, but that too would cost some money as it would only be available for pay-per-view on HBO and Showtime. People watching at home may have to pay somewhere around $90 and $100.
With the demand expected to soar higher, expect tickets to be sold in the black market as well. Additionally the price of hotels per night in the Sin city could soar if one does not make those bookings in time.
The bout scheduled for 2 May at MGM Grand in Las Vegas is expected to shatter all box office records that exist in boxing history.
