Manny Pacquiao has started his training with Freddie Roach, one of the most well known trainers in the world, who has been making a whole lot of noise ahead of the 2 May bout at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Roach is preparing Pacquiao to the best of his capabilities to be in perfect shape to fight Floyd Mayweather. Roach has been doing his homework really well as his camp has been on the lookout for partners who possess a similar style to that of the American.
Roach has been in the boxing industry for long enough to understand Mayweather's fighting style and he feels that the American walks 'you into shots and scores points,' win rounds.
"Mayweather is very good at moving and when he gets you to follow him he will walk you into shots, score points and win rounds. But he does make mistakes here and there. Not a lot, but a couple and that's something a southpaw like Manny can advantage of," boxingscene.com quoted Roach as saying.
Both the camps might have ironed out a strategy to defeat the other. It goes without saying that previous tapes of the boxers might have been watched with keen interest to find major loopholes.
"The strategy to win the fight is very complicated and precise."
Roach understands that a single error could prove fatal for the bout, which has been billed as the fight of the century.
"Manny has to make the right moves at the right time to win the fight and this time there is no room for error."
If we look at Mayweather's record, he has not made much errors in his previous fights, which can be understood by his track record, where he has not lost a single bout in his professional career. Pacquiao's record looks inferior to Maywather's as the Filipino has lost five bouts so far in his career.
The Filipino cannot afford to make mistakes like the one which he did against Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012, as a result of which the boxer was knocked out.
Mayweather is one such boxer who is always on the lookout to throw a counter punch and if Pacquiao offers that opportunity to the American, he is not going to be spared.
