The fight of the century between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is just a few weeks away but people all around the world are already in frenzy over the fight. There are huge expectations from the mega bout.
Former and current boxers have been picking their favourite and explaining as to why their pick would have an upper hand.
Similarly, when current WBA regular champion of Welterweight division Keith Thurman was asked to pick one boxer for the fight, he said that Pacquiao stands a chance of winning the bout, but also added that Mayweather is a smart boxer.
"The motto is 'Don't bet against Floyd' and that is what a lot of people say. Don't ever bet against Floyd, and I wouldn't really bet against him here either. I do believe that Manny has a shot at winning. I think if Manny prepares properly, he has a good chance of winning, but Mayweather is just always smart, he's so smart and we've never seen him really be dominated before," Thurman told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
Both the boxers have been undergoing some serious training to be in perfect shape for the fight. Their trainers are also making them fight with sparring partners, who bear their opponent's style of boxing.
The American, despite possessing an amazing record in the boxing circuit, might find it difficult to beat the Filipino.
Mayweather has not lost a single bout in his career, but Pacquiao, who might have an inferior record to the American is not going to be easy nut to crack.
Pacquiao has knocked out 38 boxers in 64 bouts and Mayweather has floored 26 of his opponents in his 47 fights. But, Thurman feels one should not be surprised if Pacquiao knocks Mayweather out.
"I've told people before talking about this fight, don't be surprised if Manny Pacquiao scores a knockdown."
"You got to understand that scoring a knockdown doesn't always mean that the guy was really-really-really hurt. It just meant that you caught him at the right time, his feet were a certain way, and the dude fell over when you hit him. That's a knock down."
It is not going to be an easy job for either of the boxers to knock the other out. It is going to be a hard fought battle, which should be enjoyed by fans all over the world.
