"Maan Karate"
Sivakarthikeyan-Hansika starrer "Maan Karate" has been doing good business not just in India, but also in overseas markets.
The film has fared well in key overseas markets including the USA, the UK, Australia and Malaysia. In its opening weekend, "Maan Karate" minted pretty good collections in these foreign markets.
"#MaanKarate [Tamil; opng wknd] USA ₹39.87 lacs, UK ₹34.19 lacs, Australia ₹16.25 lacs, Malaysia [reported screens] ₹61.42 lacs," film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The film has performed exceptionally well in Malaysia and has continued its good run even in its second week. The fantasy, romantic entertainer has grossed ₹1.28 crore (686,651 Malaysian Ringgit) at the end of the second weekend (10 days) [Note reported screens only]
In Australia, "Maan Karate" has minted ₹21.46 lakh (A$ 37,770) in 10 days at the box office.
The film is also doing well in India, despite the release of Vishal's "Naan Sigappu Manithan." The Siva starrer is expected to end the second week on a good note and it will be interesting to see how the film fares in its third week with the release of Vadivelu's comeback film "Tenaliraman."
"Naan Sigappu Manithan"
Vishal-Lakshmi Menon's "Naan Sigappu Manithan," which opened on a good note, is holding on well in Tamil Nadu owing to positive feedback. The revenge thriller is expected to continue its good run at the TN box office.
The film has raked in ₹8.65 lakh ($14,376) in the United States at the end of the first weekend, according to Taran Adarsh. [Note: Some screens are yet to report]
The Vishal starrer has been listed in the top 10 Malaysia box office (weekend). The film has taken the 9th position in the list, whereas "Maan Karate" is at the sixth spot.
