GV Prakash Kumar's latest movie Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru has received a good opening at the box office despite opening to mixed reviews. The Tamil movie was released in over 350 screens.
Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru had also received decent response for pre-booking. The movie has done well in Chennai, Chengalpet and a few other regions. But the performance is not up to the mark in other parts of the state due to demonetisation.
According to Behindwoods, Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru has earned Rs 2.5 crore on the first day. It has to be seen how the movie will perform on Saturday and Sunday which is very crucial for its success at the box office.
On the other hand, Silambarasan's Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada has successfully completed its first week in theatres. The movie, which was released on November 11, has enjoyed good viewership and has ended its 7-day collection at Rs 17.5 crore. However, the makers are yet to confirm the figures.
Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada had raked in Rs 3.65 crore on the first day and took its 3-day collection to Rs 10.10 crore. Proving the experts wrong, the movie has retained a good number of viewership on the week days too which has helped the movie to end the first week on a high note.
The Gautham Menon-directorial has opened to positive reviews. With no big films releasing in the next two weeks, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada is expected to easily enter the profit zone for the distributors.
Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada is a romantic-action movie, which has Manjima Mohan in the female lead.
