Indra Kumar's directorial "Grand Masti" is faring well in the second weekend of its release at the overseas box office, despite its limited release.
The adult comedy has taken its overseas total to ₹6.26 crore (is $ 1 million) after the second weekend, according to trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh.
The film raked in ₹45.93 lakh (£ 27,328) from the US, ₹27.46 lakh ($ 73,307) from the UK and ₹10.48 lakh (A$ 17,780) from Australia in its second weekend.
In India, "Grand Masti" made a business of around ₹82.05 crore its 15-day theatrical run. The adult comedy became the fifth highest grosser of 2013. "Chennai Express" and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" currently rules roost at the first and second position, respectively. "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" is at tthe third position followed by "Race 2" rounding off the top four grossers.
"Grand Masti" starring Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh is continuing to draw audiences in both overseas and Indian markets.
Meanwhile, romantic comedy "Shuddh Desi Romance" has seen a drop in its collections during the third week at the overseas box office. The Maneesh Sharma directed film has managed to take it overseas earnings to ₹11.93 crore in 20 days.
"Overseas: #ShuddhDesiRomance *after Weekend 3* total is $ 1.905 million [₹11.93 cr]," Adarsh tweeted. The film starring Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Vaani Kapoor unexpectedly emerged as a hit, earning more than its production cost.
"Grand Masti" also surprised industry watchers with its record breaking collections. The film is likely to cross the ₹100 crore mark, if it maintains its pace after the release of "Ranbir Kapoor starre "Besharam".
