"Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" (YJHD) is giving a tough competition to "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" (YPD2) in India as well as international markets.
The love story starring ex-flames Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone is dominating the collection centers in its second week too.
In the international markets, "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" starring Deol trio - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby - got overshadowed by "YJHD" in circuits like UK, US-Canada, UAE-GCC and Australia. However, in circuits like New Zealand and Fiji, "YPD2" was slightly ahead of "YJHD".
But overall, the Deol-starrer performed below the mark at overseas box offices in the first three days of its release.
"YPD2 got eclipsed by YJHD in UK, USA-Canada, UAE-GCC, Australia, but was ahead in NZ and Fiji. Overall, YPD2 is disappointing and YJHD is fantabulous in international markets," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Sangeeth Sivan's directorial film "YPD2" minted approximately ₹3.95 crores in its opening weekend from international markets.
UK: It raked in ₹94.76 lakh (£ 106,256) from 63 screens.
US & Canada: It minted ₹1.28 crore ($ 221,000) from 100 screens.
UAE & GCC: It collected ₹98.09 (AED 619,500) lakh.
Australia: It earned ₹45.02 lakh (A$ 83,244) from 22 screens
New Zealand: It raked in ₹19.29 lakh (NZ$ 42,542) from 14 screens.
Fiji: It minted ₹9.19 lakh (FJD 29,439) from 2 screens.
Ayan Mukherji's second directorial venture "YJHD" collected approximately ₹43.04 crores ($ 7.4 million) after second weekend, according to Adarsh. "YJHD" has earned the production costs within the first week of its release. The film made on a budget of ₹45 - ₹50 crores has already earned more than ₹136 crores at domestic box office and around ₹43 crore in overseas markets.
