John Abraham starrer "Welcome Back" is all set to enter the Rs 100 crore club at the domestic box office, while Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty finished its first week run in India.
Welcome Back
The comedy entertainer "Welcome Back" witnessed a drop of 75% in its second week at the domestic box office. The comedy drama minted Rs 18.65 crore in its second week compared to its first week income of Rs 74.02 crore.
"#WelcomeBack [Wk 2] Fri 2.61 cr, Sat 4.38 cr, Sun 5.41 cr, Mon 1.70 cr, Tue 1.45 cr, Wed 1.35 cr, Thu 1.75 cr. Total: ₹ 92.67 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The drop in its second week box office collection is huge as the first week income was the second highest this year, after Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan". But due to its good first week income, the overall 14-day box office collection stands at Rs 92.67 crore.
"Welcome Back" is now inching towards Rs 100 crore mark and is also set to beat the lifetime box office collection record of Akshay Kumar's "Baby".
Akshay's "Baby" is the fourth highest grossing Bollywood film of 2015 and soon John starrer "Welcome Back" will take that place.
"Welcome Back", which released on 4 September, is directed by Anees Bazmee and features Shruti Haasan, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia, Naseeruddin Shah and Sakshi Maggo in pivotal roles.
Hero
Salman Khan's production venture "Hero" had a low first week at the domestic box office. The romantic film minted Rs 30.87 crore in its first week run from Indian markets.
"#Hero Fri 6.85 cr, Sat 6.62 cr, Sun 7.63 cr, Mon 3.03 cr, Tue 2.45 cr, Wed 2.15 cr, Thu 2.14 cr. Total: ₹ 30.87 cr. India biz," Adarsh tweeted.
"Hero" was promoted on a huge scale and hence it was expected to do well at the box office, but unfortunately, the film crashed after its opening weekend.
