The business of Bipasha Basu's "Alone" failed to show growth, while Vikram's "I" had a decent debut weekend at the domestic box office. But surprisingly, Aamir Khan's "PK" is still running at the box office.
The horror film "Alone" scared audience from theatres during its opening weekend due to which the collection didn't witness any major growth.
In the first three days, the film minted approximately ₹12 crore from theatres in India. The film, which also features Karan Singh Grover in male lead role, earned only ₹3.5 crore and ₹3.75 crore on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
The collection on Sunday improved, but only by 5%. On Sunday, it minted approximately ₹4 crore, taking its overall earning to approximately ₹12 crore.
While "Alone" scared people from theatres, Vikram's Tamil film "I" entertained movie-goers.
The Hindi version of the Vikram's film "I" showed slight growth at several theatres in North India. The opening weekend figure is yet to be released, but in two days the film minted approximately ₹4.5 crore.
Growth wise, the dubbed film "I" performed better than Bipasha's "Alone".
Meanwhile, Aamir's "PK" continues its marvelous run in India even in its fifth week. The overall domestic earning of the film, after fifth weekend, stands at ₹336.53 crore.
"#PK collects total of Rs. 336.53 cr [Fri: 57 lakhs; Sat: 88 lakhs; Sun: 1.27cr]," trade website Bollywood Hungama tweeted the fifth weekend figure.
