Dance film "ABCD 2" (Any Body Can Dance 2) has surpassed the ₹100 crore mark at the worldwide box office with its gross income. The film achieved the feat in less than a week.
"#ABCD2 crosses ₹ 100 *gross* in less than 1 week WORLDWIDE... India gross ₹ 92.85 cr + Overseas gross ₹ 1.8 mn [₹ 11.45 cr]. SUPERB!" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"ABCD 2" is Varun Dhawan's first film to hit the century mark in India, while it is Shraddha Kapoor's second film.
After gross income, the film is now racing to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the domestic box office with its net income. The film has, so far, raked in ₹ 71 crore in seven days and since it's the only big film in theatres this week, it will dominate the box office.
Meanwhile, the film has finished its first week run in India with highest box office collection, beating "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" record. "ABCD 2" is now the sixth highest grosser of 2015.
"#ABCD2 records HIGHEST *Week 1* biz of 2015 [so far], overtaking *Week 1* biz of #TanuWedsManuReturns [₹ 70.02 cr]. India biz. Hindi films," box office analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"#ABCD2 Fri 14.30 cr, Sat 14.54 cr, Sun 17.51 cr, Mon 8.05 cr, Tue 6.77 cr, Wed 5.68 cr, Thu 4.93 cr. Total: ₹ 71.78 cr nett. India biz. FAB," he added.
