Arjun Kapoor's "Tevar" has failed to entertain audiences in its first week; whereas Aamir Khan's "PK" is still dominating the box office.
Tevar
Arjun-Sonakshi Sinha starrer "Tevar" collected approximately around ₹28 crore in five days run at the domestic box office. The movie, which was surrounded by positive hype, has failed to appeal audience post its release.
"Tevar" had an average opening weekend in India and it continued to perform poorly during weekdays. The film's production cost is more than ₹45 crore, but it would be difficult for the film to earn the budget amount considering its pace.
The romantic action thriller might not be able to earn the production cost from its worldwide run.
Directed by Amit Sharma, the film features Manoj Bajpayee and Raj Babbar in pivotal roles.
PK (Peekay)
Even though the film is running in its fourth week, it has continued its victorious run worldwide. The Aamir and Anushka Sharma starrer remained the first choice of movie goers at several theaters despite the release of "Tevar".
"PK" has been giving tough competition to "Tevar" in India as well as overseas market. "PK" worldwide total include ₹332 crore domestic income and over ₹155 crore overseas income.
While the net worldwide income stands at ₹485 crore, the gross revenue of "PK" has surpassed ₹635 crore mark.
"PK", the highest grosser Bollywood movie, has surpassed all the expectations at the box office market.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film landed into several controversies but it didn't affect the box office collection in India.
