"Tanu Weds Manu Returns" and "Dil Dhadakne Do" continue to make money at the domestic box office.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan starrer "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" has completed its four weeks run with 145 crore income from the domestic box office. The film maintained a strong hold at the box office during its theatrical run, despite several new releases.
The phenomenal box office run of "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" has taken the film on the top spot at the highest grosser list of 2015. And after crossing the 100 crore mark, the film is now heading for ₹150 crore mark at the domestic box office.
"#TWMReturns [Wk 4] Fri 1.09 cr, Sat 1.75 cr, Sun 2.26 cr, Mon 85 lacs, Tue 85 lacs, Wed 80 lacs, Thu 75 lacs. Grand total: ₹ 145.04 cr. ATBB," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Directed by Anand L Rai, "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" is the first blockbuster film, first ₹200 crore worldwide grosser and first ₹100 crore film of 2015. The film has set several records in the first three weeks of its box office run, but the collection slowed down in its fourth week.
Dil Dhadakne Do
Zoya Akhtar's directorial film has earned ₹71 crore in India after its two weeks run. The film starring Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Anil Kapoor in the important roles is now set to beat the lifetime box office collection of Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan starrer "Piku".
"Piku" earned ₹79.5 crore in its four weeks theatrical run and looks like "Dil Dhadakne Do" will beat the box office collection with its three weeks earnings.
