"Singham Returns" dominated the ticket windows in India in the start of its second week.
Post the second weekend, the box office collection of Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer stands at ₹127.8 crore.
In its opening week, the action drama film raked in ₹112 crore and in the second weekend, it minted ₹15.21 crore. The film maintained its hold at the box office despite running in its second week.
The second half of the year has started on a good note for the Indian box office with four films crossing ₹100 crore mark, including "Ek Villain", "Holiday- A Soldier Is Never Off Duty", "Kick" and "Singham Returns".
Salman Khan's "Kick" even managed to reach the whopping ₹200 crore club.
And now "Singham Returns" is roaring at the box office with its collection. The film had a very strong first week and maintained the same pace during its second weekend. It also surpassed the lifetime collections of "Jai Ho" and "Holiday" and became the second highest grosser film of 2014.
Now, it is set to reach the next target of crossing the ₹150 crore mark in India. But it solely depends on its performance during the weekdays.
Meanwhile, "Mardaani" is also picking up its business in India, which can later affect "Singham Returns".
On the other hand, the Devgn starrer is set to beat Akshay Kumar's "Rowdy Rathore" and Khan's "Dabangg" record at the box office and enter the top 10 list of highest grosser film ever.
Meanwhile, Khan's highest grosser film "Kick" is still running in Indian theaters, but the screen count has come down to less than 20 and is making in a minimum amount from the box office in its fifth week.
Till its fifth weekend, the film has taken its nett total to ₹232 crore, while the gross total is more than ₹377 crore, which includes the overseas total.
