As expected, Akshay Kumar's "Singh Is Bliing" (Singh Is Bling) has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic box office, while Irrfan Khan starrer "Talvar" showed good trend during its opening weekend.

Akshay's film was expected to earn more than Rs 50 crore in its opening weekend and it lived up to the expectations. The film earned Rs 19.27 crore on Sunday, thus taking its opening weekend box office collection to Rs 54.44 crore.
"#SinghIsBliing crosses ₹ 50 cr mark in its opening weekend. Sun was ROCKING. Fri 20.67 cr, Sat 14.50 cr, Sun 19.27 cr. Total: ₹ 54.44 cr," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The opening weekend box office collection of "Singh Is Bliing" is the second highest of 2015. Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" holds the record of the highest opening weekend of 2015 with Rs 102.60 crore, while Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra starrer "Brothers" is in the third place after "Singh Is Bliing" with Rs 52.08 crore.
John Abraham's "Welcome Back" too crossed Rs 50 crore mark in its opening weekend and now it has the fourth highest debut weekend earnings.
Talvar
Irrfan Khan starrer "Talvar", which is based on the 2008 Aarushi Talwar murder case in Noida, has minted Rs 9.25 crore from its opening weekend run.
The business of the investigative thriller, directed by Meghna Gulzar, grew during the weekends due to positive word of mouth.
"Talvar" minted Rs 2.50 crore on Friday, the box office collection increased on second day (Saturday) slightly following which it minted Rs 2.75 crore, and on Sunday, the business went up by 40%. On its third day, "Talvar" minted Rs 3.50 crore from the domestic box offices.
"Talvar gathers momentum with each passing day. Thu previews 50 lacs, Fri 2.50 cr, Sat 2.75 cr, Sun 3.50. Total: ₹ 9.25 cr. India biz," trade analyst Adarsh tweeted.
The investigative thriller, which opened to rave reviews, also features Konkona Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi in pivotal roles.
