Akshay Kumar's "Singh Is Bliing" and Irrfan Khan starrer "Talvar" will have a good opening at the domestic box office.
Prabhudeva's directorial film is a comedy entertainer starring Akshay and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. "Singh Is Bliing", which is Akshay's fourth film of the year, has managed to hit the right chord with the audiences.
The film generated positive buzz with its poster and trailer release and the promotion only increased the overall buzz of the film. Since it is a masala entertainer, "Singh Is Bliing" is expected to open to packed houses at single screens.
In addition, with 2 October (Gandhi Jayanti) holiday across the country, the film will register good occupancy at the box office. The advance booking report shows that the single screen occupancy is around 60 to 70%.
Looking at the buzz, one can predict that "Singh Is Bliing" will be Akshay's biggest all-time opener. His last release "Brothers" (Rs 15.2 crore) had recorded his highest opening day box office collection and now it looks like "Singh IS Bliing will beat the record.
Along with "Singh Is Bliing", Irrfan's "Talvar" is also releasing; both the films will have their own space at the box office as they belong to different genres.
Meghna Gulzar's directorial film "Talvar" is an investigating thriller featuring Irrfan, Konkonna Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi. "Talvar" might not have an opening as good as "Singh Is Bliing", but it will start on a good note.
"Talvar" is backed by positive reviews, which will help its opening day occupancy at the box office.
However, the approximate opening day occupancy and collection will be known by the end of the day.
