Rishab Shetty's Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shale, Kasaragod, is off to a good start at the box office. It is clearly evident after the screen count for the Kannada flick has witnessed a substantial increase on daily basis.
Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shale, Kasaragod was released in limited screens, but looking at the response single screens and multiplexes have added more number of shows in Bengaluru and other main centres.
The movie has grossed over Rs 2 crore in three days and the makers are now expecting the gross to reach around Rs 5 crore with a distributors' share around Rs 2.5-3 crore in its first week.
"It is a very good number for a film which does not have an A-list commercial actor. The film is made with an estimated budget of Rs 2 crore (sans the remuneration of director and other crew). It means the movie is set to enter the profit zone soon," a source close to the distributor tells The International Business Times.
SHPSK was released in 75 screens (40 multiplexes+35 single screens) across Karnataka and it might cross 125+ in the second week. In places like Mangaluru and Manipal, the children flick had less than 10 shows on the opening day, but the movie had 33 and 17 shows, respectively on Monday which clearly indicates the response towards the flick.
Similarly, SHPSK had 17 shows in Mysuru and had over 100 shows in Bengaluru. "We are delighted to see the way viewers have accepted the movie. I am hearing a lot of positive reviews from people across the state, "director Rishab Shetty shares his excitement with The International Business Times.
The team is happy because SHPSK has drawn the attention of intellectuals. Veteran writer Patil Puttappa saw Rishab Shetty's creation on Monday. Pro-Kannada groups have also shown interest to promote the film.
Attempts are being made to screen the film for Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy after Congress leader Siddaramiah watched the film and said good words about it.
