Sivakarthikeyan's Remo and Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka have got a fantastic start at the Chennai box office. Both the films have dominated most of the cinema halls while other new release Devi made a decent collection in its first weekend in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
In the first weekend, Remo has minted Rs 1.71 crore from 366 shows, reports Behindwoods. It enjoyed an average of 80 percent occupancy in most of the centres in three days. It is considered to be an earth-shattering opening for a Sivakarthikeyan film.
Rekka has come a distant second by earning Rs 65.72 lakh from 219 shows. Although it is said to be an average opening for a Vijay Sethupathi film, the mass elements are expected to do wonders for the movie in the days to come.
Devi is in the third position by raking in Rs 37.48 lakh from 141 shows. It is a good number for the movie, which does not have an A-list actor in the cast. All three new movies have garnered decent to good reviews from the critics. Hence, business of the flicks is expected to be stable for the next few days.
