Sivakarthikeyan starrer "Rajini Murugan" has continued to dominate the Chennai box office, thereby overpowering other films like "Tharai Thappattai", "Kathakali", "Gethu" and new Bollywood release "Airlift".

Bollywood movie "Airlift" starring Akshay Kumar has occupied the second position at Chennai box office. The Hindi film had 81 shows from which it has raked in Rs 33.42 lakh and it is a huge number for a B-town flick in the capital city of Tamil nadu. The positive reviews from the audience and critics have done wonders for the flick at the collection centres, the report adds.
Sasikumar's "Tharai Thappattai", which had minted Rs 79.73 lakh in the first weekend, is in the next position by collecting Rs 24.80 lakh from 114 shows. The 11-day total collection stands at Rs 1.49 crore.
Vishal Krishna starrer "Kathakali" follows next by raking in Rs 24.13 lakh from 114 shows. By the end of its second weekend, the Tamil movie has earned Rs 1.12 crore. The Tamil film opened to unanimous positive reviews from critics. But somehow, the movie has failed to make it big at the box office.
Udhayanidhi Stalin's "Gethu", which had earned Rs 62.64 lakh in the opening weekend, has added Rs 16.07 lakh from 105 shows to its total to take its tally to Rs 1.03 crore by the end of its second weekend.
