"R... Rajkumar" and "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" have finished their respective weeks at the box office.
Prabhu Deva's directorial film "R... Rajkumar" did good business in its second week, taking its overall earnings to ₹64.43 crore.
In its first week, the film had minted ₹47.05 crore and in its second week the film managed to pull off ₹17.38 crore from ticket windows.
"#RRajkumar [Wk 2]: Fri 2.60 cr, Sat 3.47 cr, Sun 4.91 cr, Mon 2.03 cr, Tue 1.70 cr, Wed 1.46 cr, Thu 1.21 cr. Grand total: ₹ 64.43 cr," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
In its second week also, the film managed to register 50 to 60 percent occupancy in single screens mostly. With the success of the film, Shahid Kapoor's demand has increased.
Several awards functions will take place starting from the month of January and Shahid has been approached to perform on his hit songs of the year "Gandi Baat" and "Agal Bagal" among others.
"No doubt the music of these songs is phenomenal, but most importantly, these songs are a visual treat for the audiences. So much so, that the organizers are ready to pay any amount to get Shahid Kapoor on board to perform at award ceremonies," The Times of India reported.
Meanwhile, November release "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" has completed its five weeks run non-stop. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, which entered into controversy from the day its trailer was released, has managed to run well at the box office.
The film starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has taken its domestic five weeks total to ₹ 116.33 crore. In its first week, the film raked in ₹76 crore, second week ₹24.50 crore, third week ₹10.25 crore, fourth week ₹3.50 crore and fifth week ₹2.08 crore, according to Adarsh.
