Comedy film "Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2" did well on the first Monday. The film witnessed a minimal drop of around 30 percent on the fourth day compared to its opening day.
The comedy film earned Rs 4.35 crore on its fourth day, thus taking its overall box office collection to Rs 27.10 crore.
"#PyaarKaPunchnama2 gallops to VICTORY. Film passes the essential 'Monday test' with STRONG biz, thus making it a clear WINNER... contd," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"#PyaarKaPunchnama2 Fri 6.80 cr, Sat 7.60 cr, Sun 8.35 cr, Mon 4.35 cr. Total: ₹ 27.10 cr. India biz. EXCELLENT!" Adarsh tweeted.
"Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2" is enjoying its first week run at the box office. Despite starring lesser-known faces, the film has managed to attract viewers to the box office.
And surprisingly, the film has outperformed movies that feature several big stars. The four-day box office collection of "Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2" is more than what Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's "Jazbaa" film earned in 10-day.
The film is now looking forward to put a first week box office collection of Rs 35+ crore.
On the other hand, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's "Jazbaa" business in India has reduced drastically. The film has earned Rs 23.75 crore in 10-day and with its slow pace, the box office collection after the second week will reach up to Rs 25 crore.
And since the makers have earned the production cost, the film has sailed into the safe zone.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has also produced the film, has earned Rs 3 crore as her profit share, according to Hindustan Times.
"It was a wise decision (to opt for a profit-sharing model) on Aishwarya's part, since the film has become a hit. And as the movie continues to do well — especially with no major competition in sight, she stands to earn even more," HT quoted a trade insider as saying.
