Naga Chaitanya's "Oka Laila Kosam" ("OLK") has taken average opening on the first day of its release. The film has minted approximately ₹1.9 crore share at the AP/Nizam box office, according to Andhraboxoffice.
Check below the area-wise collections of "OLK"
Nizam: ₹72 lakh, Ceded: ₹32 lakh, Vizag: ₹17 lakh, East: ₹13 lakh, West: ₹14 lakh, Krishna: ₹16 lakh, Guntur: ₹18 lakh and Nellore: ₹8 lakh
AP/Nizam first day collections: approximately ₹1.9 crore
The romantic entertainer has failed to beat the opening day collections of "Manam," which had rake in around ₹2.32 crore share on its opening day at the AP/Nizam box office. "OLK" had received mixed reviews from the critics. They had stated that the film is a clean entertainer with good performances and comedy by Ali. However, the second half seems to be dragging a bit and the songs are also just average.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Konda, "OLK" has Naga Chaitanya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. The romantic-comedy drama is Naga Chaitanya's third release of the year after "Manam" and "Autonagar Surya." While "Manam" turned out to be a huge hit, "Autonagar Surya" performed average business at the box office.
Director Konda, who last film "Gunde Jaari Gullanthayyinde" was a hit is hoping that "OLK" will beat "Manam" collections. Though the film's first day collections did not surpass "Manam" opening day figures, it will be interesting to see if the film picks up and manages to beat "Manam" figures in the coming days.
"OLK" has only a few days time to mint decent collections, after which it will be facing strong competition from Diwali releases.
Nikhil Siddarth's "Karthikeya" and Vishal's Telugu dubbed film "Pooja" are set to hit the screens for Diwali. The release of these two films might reduce the screen count for "OLK" and affect its business. One needs to wait and watch if "OLK" manages to sustain its business despite the release of new films.
