Emraan Hashmi's science thriller "Mr X" has completed its first week run at the domestic box office, but on a low note.
After a low opening weekend, the science thriller dropped drastically during the week days. "Mr X" first week box office collection is estimated to be ₹20.50 crore.
Emraan's film earned ₹13.99 crore in its opening weekend and ₹6.51 crore in the remaining five days (from first Monday to Friday).
"#MrX Fri 4.50 cr, Sat 4.39 cr, Sun 5.10 cr. Total: ₹ 13.99 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the opening weekend box office collection.
"Mr X" opened to mixed to negative reviews on Friday and failed to impress audience, following which the collection dropped drastically. "Mr X" is Emraan's fourth film after "Raja Natwarlal", "Ghanchhakkar" and "Ungli" that fared poorly in India.
While the film didn't face much competition furing its first week run, in week two Hollywood movie "Avengers Age Of Ultron" will dominate box office centers.
Superhero film "Avengers Age Of Ultron" released in India on 24 April and opened to full houses in several theaters across India. The film has been released in over 1500 screens in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, according to trade analyst Adarsh.
But the morning shows of the film were affected due to technical issues. However, Disney issued an official statement stating that they have tried to resolve the issue.
"A few cinemas faced technical problems during the morning shows, but we worked closely with each of these cinemas to resolve the issue, and shows have resumed in most of these centres. We expect shows from the afternoon onwards to run smoothly all over," a company spokesperson said in a statement.
Superhero film "Avengers Age Of Ultron" is a sequel to 2012's "T he Avengers". The film features Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson in key roles.
