Irrfan Khan's thriller drama "Madaari" (Madari) had a strong hold at the box office on its fourth day. The film witnessed a drop of 28 percent on Monday compared to its opening day box office run.
"Madaari" minted Rs. 1.6 crore nett (Rs. 2.3 crore gross) on Monday, which took its box office collection to Rs. 12.85 crore nett (Rs. 18.45 crore gross). The Rs. 12.85 crore nett income is just from the four days run and from 1,000 screens. The film, which opened to mixed reviews, had a strong hold at the box office due to positive word of mouth.
Not only in India, the Nishikanth Kamat directorial also had a good run at the overseas box office. The film minted Rs. 4.4 crore from the overseas box office, which took its overall worldwide box office income to Rs. 22.85 crore.
"Madaari" will now have to continue its stronghold to take its first-week earnings on a good note. The film has only a week to perform well, as the box office collection might drop after the release of the entertaining film "Dishoom" on July 29.
Directed by Nishikanth, the film also features Jimmy Shergill, Vishesh Bansal, Tushar Dalvi, Nitish Pandey and Ayesha Raza in the pivotal roles. "Madaari" has been produced by Paramhans Creations Productions, and distributed by Vashu Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment and Films.
