Abhishek Kapoor's directorial movie "Kai Po Che!" is still dominating the box office, while new releases like "I Me Aur Main" and "The Attacks Of 26/11" opened to a dull start.
The film, based on friendship between three characters played by Sushant Singh, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav, had a decent first week collecting approximately ₹29.50 crore.
The collections on the second Friday and Saturday were rock steady, and the film is expected to end the second weekend on a good note.
"#KaiPoChe continues to lead, despite two significant releases. 2nd Week: Sat 3.75 cr. All set for 11.5 to 12 cr weekend. Super!" trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The business of the film was expected to go down as two new films were released this week. However, "Kai Po Che!" maintained a strong position at box offices in India.
The John Abraham starrer "I Me and Main" and Ram Gopal Varma's crime-thriller "The Attacks of 26/11" received mixed to negative reviews from critics.
Both the movies had opened on a dull note with an average occupancy of 10-15 percent.
"I Me Aur Main", which also stars Prachi Desai and Chitrangda Singh, collected ₹3.20 crore in the first two days of its release. Unlike other movies, the romantic film directed by Kapil Sharma failed to pick up during the weekend.
"#IMeAurMain Fri 1.45 cr, Sat 1.75 cr. Total: 3.20 crore," Adarsh tweeted.
"The Attack of 26/11", which is based on 2008 Mumbai terror attack, raked in approximately ₹3 crore in two days at the domestic box office.
The business of Ram Gopal's directorial film was better in Maharashtra, while "I Me Aur Main" raked in better collections in Delhi, UP and East Punjab.
