Among the new releases, only "Hate Story 2" managed to pass the first Monday test, while old releases "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" and Marathi film "Lai Bhaari" maintained a strong hold at the box office.
Compared to the other two releases "Amit Sahni Ki List" and "Pizza", "Hate Story 2" managed to entertain the audience at the box office.
The film, which is an erotic thriller, has made a business of about ₹18.53 crore from four days at the domestic box office, while "Amit Sahni Ki List" and "Pizza" has not even managed to earn ₹5 crore individually.

Previous releases, "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt enjoyed a good second weekend in India, with several shows going housefull. The film is running well in India due to its romantic comedy genre. Also, the lead actors' chemistry has managed to pull the crowds towards it in the second week also.
The film, till now has raked in ₹68.94 crore from its domestic collection centers and has been declared a smash hit.

The film is expected to continue its non-stop run this week, but in its third week, it will face a stiff competition from Salman Khan's "Kick." Meanwhile, the Marathi film "Lai Bhaari" starring Riteish Deshmukh in the lead role has been going strong in Maharashtra. The film's collection is so strong that distributors are not ready to reduce the show in single screens.

"Lai Bhaari," which features Khan in a cameo, is giving nightmares to "Kick" director Sajid Nadiadwala as the distributors have refused to pull out the shows of the Marathi film from the theaters.
